Model Sitting Room – Storeroom setting

The sitting room as it would be first seen as a ‘storeroom’ with a couple of nods to ‘Crossroads past’ including the old motel sign (1967-81), a silver Christmas tree (a regular sight in the 1970s and 80s in the programme), Meg’s floral painting from the room, the bureau and the sofa*/chairs**. In one of the bureau drawers, there is also a collection of old family images which Jill would find at some point. The colour of the walls is similar to the main hotel hallway colour – as seen in the 2001-02 episodes – although there is damage to the paintwork in the ‘sitting room’ due to dampness and a flood from the floor above.

*/** The sofa and chairs were golden coloured when last seen, but for most of their life in the set were brown and it is the earlier dark brown colour chosen to represent them when they’re first seen wrapped in a plastic covering in the 2001 set.
