More famous faces show their support for Crossroads Caring for Carers

The Crossroads Care help point – is becoming a celebrity sighting spot. Names previously seen at the site include Crossroads actor Tony Adams, news reporter Suzanne Virdee and actor Tom Clarke–Hill possibly best known as the voice of Tony the Tiger in Kellogg’s advertising for Frosties Cereal.

The latest face to give his support to the charity is actor Clive Mantle who played the fiancé of Geraldine in BBC sitcom the Vicar of Dibley, Dr Mike Barratt in Casualty for BBC One and Lord Greatjon Umber in HBO’s Game of Thrones.

“A huge thank you to actor Clive Mantle for his kindness and for being such a great sport when he stopped off to have his photograph taken at our “Information Point” in Powick” – Crossroads Caring for Carers

Clive popped into the former payphone that has been turned into an information hub for the caring organisation on June 20th.

Crossroads Care originated from the TV soap when it featured a storyline in which motel owner Meg Richardson, played by Noele Gordon, looked after her disabled son, Sandy. This created such interest among real-life Carers that programme-makers ATV donated £10,000 towards a caring-for-carers pilot scheme, which was to become the start of Crossroads Care branches across the country.

Crossroads Caring for Carers is run, as ITV was, on a region-by-region basis with the red phone box in the care of the Worcestershire branch of the charity.
